What size skip do I need?
The size of skip will vary depending on how much waste you are looking
to dispose of.
Try to be realistic
about the skip size as it may work out better/cheaper ordering 1
builders skip, opposed to 2 midi skips. We offer 2 sizes of skips:

size you may require.
Can I put a skip on the road?
Of course! All you require is a
skip
permit (see below).
Skip Permits - Why do I need one / How much do they cost?
A skip permit is
legally
required when hiring a skip on a public road. Local
authorities issue them for one and two weeks periods, but this can be
extended for an additional charge.
A1 Skip Hire permits are charged at
£50 and are
inclusive in
the
price
you see on our website. This cost not only covers the
permit licence but also skip lighting and any addtional road safetly
equipment if required - ie road cones etc...
What can / can't I put In a skip?
We accept
most house
hold items with the
exception
of hazardous or harmful substances, which include:-
- Asbestos
- Medical Waste
- Petrol, Diesel, Oil
- Explosives
Please contact a waste company which specialise in dealing with
hazardous waste if you need to dispose of hazardous or asbestos related
materials.
How high can I fill the skip?
Our skips should be filled no higher than the very top of the sides of
the skip.
Please
do
not overload our skips. This is for the safety of our
drivers and other road users whilst in transportation.
What areas do you deliver skips to?
We deliver skips within a 10 mile radius of our waste disposal depot in
Bullwell, Nottingham. On occasions we can deliver futher, it all depends
on the roads and locations.

How long can I keep the skip for?
You are able to keep our skips for up to 14 days. If you anticipate
needing the skip for a longer period just let us know and this can be
arranged.
Note: We
may need to charge you for addtional
permit
hire (see above) if your skip is
on
the road.
How much will my skip cost?
The price you pay will be depend on the
skip
size you choose and whether it is on the road (which
requires
a permit).
We are always happy to give you a
quote over the phone and go through the details so that everything is
clear.
What does the price of the Skip hire include?
The price we charge is an all-inclusive price. Skip hire from A1 Skips
includes delivery of skip, permit and lights (if on-the-road), cones (if
required), collection, and the full disposal of your waste.
How do I pay for my skip?
We accept the following methods of payment.
